Import Paint from Maya

Hello. I am trying to import a file from maya that uses paint. When i Import it into Unity it is just invisible. I figured Unity is only compatible with Polygons, so i changed Paint to Polygons in the Modify setting in Maya. Then when I imported that into Unity, It turned out all messed up and Black Instead of how it should be. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I think you need to export the texture.

Open your model in maya, duplicate it.

Then go to Rendering > Lightning/Shading > Transfer Maps.

Add main mesh to Source Meshes, duplicated one to Target Meshes.

Then click Diffuse on Output Maps. Select your destination etc. And also choose a bigger size on the Maya Common Output settings.

Bake and Close.
