imported a helicpter it is a MESS :(

A model was bought and given to me to put into a project.
I cannot seem to texture it right.
I have imported lots of models before this, no problem.

The pic below shows my problem. Some info on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

One thing you can try:

In your Project panel, click on the imported model - in the Inspector under your Importer (FBXImporter for example) make sure you have “Calculate” selected under Normals - after this press “Apply”.

Maybe it’s a gmax conversion which often creates problems with normals. Just like Wo1ff says try importing then use Normals - Unify modifier in Max (if you use max) but it rarely does the job completely. There’s always a couple of polygons left to do by hand.
