Hey all,
I recently started a new scene and was importing a Maya model but when i add it to the assets folder and bring it into the scene view, i only get half of the model and the other half is just a cylinder (when there isnt even one in the model). I checked the model by opening it in Maya and it looks fine. Any thoughts?
Is your history deleted?
From Maya or Unity? I deleted Maya’s history. Can you delete Unity’s?
I’ve had issues with maya not actually deleting history in the past, or hidden nodes getting attached.
If it is just geometry (not rigged), try exporting the object as an OBJ, then reimporting it into a fresh maya scene. Also, make sure you have backface culling on in maya, and the normals are all correct.
If you mirror geometry and recombine it, sometimes normals can get inverted.
