Imported mixamo idle aim animation, but it doesn't aim forward when I'm facing forward

It’s been a fun journey learning first and third person controller logic and now animations, so I have what may be a stupid question. I’ve downloaded an idle aim animation from Mixamo and it works great, but when I am facing forward (as depicted in photo below) the character’s head is facing left at a 45 degree angle in an aim pose. Since my cross-hair is straight ahead, there is the glaring discrepancy. The obvious thing to do is for me to rotate my character accordingly, but since I’m new to this world I don’t know if the obvious thing is the right thing, so I thought I’d ask you experts first if this is indeed the right approach… that is, whenever I switch to aim mode, should I manually rotate my model, or is there some other backed-in method I’m missing due to my ignorance on the subject? I also ask because if I manually rotate my model, then wouldn’t that have an awkward looking affect while I’m aiming and strafing left/right or going forwards/backwards?

Many thanks in advance!

update: I tried updating the rotation of the model but the animation overrides anything I do. I’m guessing the obvious solution isn’t the right solution after all.

Okay, I figured it out from this youtube video. You need to click on the animation, go into Animation tab, and adjust the Root Transform Rotation setting. In my case I set it from “Body Orientation” to “Original” and that worked.
