Hi Folks,
I was working with a developer who created a particle test for me, but I have no idea how to use it.
He’s vanished, so if anyone could help out it’d be much appreciated.
Basically I have a “Unity Package File” I can import it into a new project, but nothing seems to happen. It’s just listed on the asset window, with nothing else to do apparently?
I’m puretty sure there should be a quite gigantic explosion of particles, and I want to see the frame rate during this… but I see nothing… any ideas?

That Prefab is pretty much empty except for a reference to a missing script.
Hmm, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised by that.
Andy Stark was doing this for me. Started strong but just vanished after a few days and then sent over this (apparently worthless) package file after I demanded something to go into my report.
Can anyone suggest a publicly available package which would provide a similar demonstration of the particle system performance?
did you consider using the explosion framework (unity3d.com → support → resources) as an example of what could be done performance wise with particles physics or did your test purely focus on particles
I must say that I did not “vanish” in any sense, you simply haven’t attempted to contact me since the last e-mail I sent you. As I have explained several times, I don’t believe Unity supports the type of low level optimisation of the rendering source code that you appear to need for your project. However, I did attempt to supply you with what meaningful data was available. I was not available for work or communication for most of the weekend, but then you didn’t give me any indication that I would need to be. Nevertheless, I did manage to get back to my computer briefly to send you the package with the particle system. If there is something wrong with the package, I can only apologise. I’ll check it and send it again by e-mail.

I find this surprising when I have said that I won’t expect payment for this job and I have not refused to help you at any stage.
