Importing Animated opacity from maya

i have animated opacity of a shader in maya,by changing its transparency from 0 to 100 (using keying method).
When i imported the object in unity,the animation does not occur while playing in the ‘game’ mode.
is there any work around ?
can I animate the opacity/transparency in unity itself ?

Unity does not import animation curves of material properties, because FBX doesn’t contain that information.

You can either plot these curves on some dummy object positions tracks and import that into Unity, or create material animation in Unity.
