Importing Assets from Unreal Engine Marketplace Into Unity

Can I buy assets packs from Unreal Engine Marketplace and import it easily into my scene? (for example https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/slug/dark-forest ). I found some various opinions in the internet about it and I want to have 100% sure in that case.

  1. Is it legal (also to use in commercial projects)?
  2. Is it possible?
  3. Is it easy?
  4. How about performance?

Most assets are going to be in Unreal format (proprietary .uasset, etc) so you’ll have not much fun converting/exporting everything to more generic formats like .fbx but legally there’s no issue as long as its not published by Epic Games.

To answer #1 and #2, yes it is and yes you can: https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/marketplace-faq

#3: See LaneFox’s answer.

#4: Should be the same. No guarantee, though.

You’re not going to have an easy time importing unreal assets into unity but you could try using my plugin : Exporter for Unreal to/for Unity 2025 | Integration | Unity Asset Store . It exports to FBX and can export static meshes with LODs, collision shapes, actor placement, decals, lights, reflection probes, spline meshes, skinned meshes with animations, terrain, materials & textures.

Hey is it illegal to import the starter content because it has some nice materials. and am not gonna use them for commercial purposes

Yes.

I like this line “Please note that products purchased from the Marketplace cannot be sold back to the Marketplace after alteration.” This kinds stops Asset Flips, lol
