I recently learned that we can import models from Skyrim along with their texture and animation into 3ds Max or Maya, using some software. Also, I read somewhere that unity is capable of rendering high graphics, and it’s up to the designer/developer to make it look stunning. So, I was just wondering whether anyone has made a game/scenery using the original models from Skyrim. I just wanted to observe the difference in the way it looks, between the actual Skyrim game and the scene rendered with unity.
P.S. After a week’s research about various game engines, I have decided to learn unity. I really love it and appreciate the team involved in its development.
You are all taking about using someone else's intellectual property. How is it possibly allowed to rip models from a AAA title and use them freely without a license agreement to do so. This has to be illegal.
– AlucardJayI haven't seen skyrim in Unity but there is someone putting Battlefield in Unity here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IR-bIXvcU-w
– Jooped@alucardj as long as he owns the games, doesn't distribute the models or the game he is making with them, or worse sell the models or game then there really is nothing to worry about.
– JoopedNo, they didn't make it, they don't own it, they don't have a license agreement for non-exclusive use of the content, it is illegal. Just because one knows that something exists or knows how to rip it does not make it legal. You cannot justify it in any way. This is stealing, that is all.
