Importing point cloud data

Does anyone know if it’s possible to import point cloud data from Maya or C4D? I have a feeling Collada might support this, but not sure about FBX. I have to figure out some way to display molecular structures in Unity. It’s a bit of a nightmare! :shock:

If this is possible, could someone point me in the right direction or offer any advice? I’m just a lone artist and my team is extremely short on programmers at the moment.

How many of them you have at most?

I’d like to know also how to display 1-10-100 million point cloud points…
If Catia can do it, then why not unity : )

Atleast now you can easily display point cloud data with dx11 features.

With a quick test, 1 million points works smoothly, >2 million totally hangs the computer…
