Importing trees to "paint" with

Hi, I’m having problems with importing trees so I can use them in the terrain engine. I have one mesh with two materials. I put them in the “Ambient-Occlusion” folder, but when I add them in my terrain they don’t show up. I have search the forums here, but haven’t found any solution. Only people having problems with collision and alpha stuff.
Anyone who has an idea about what I’m doing wrong?

Do you see a thumbnail of your tree when you import it into the editor? Do you have any extra nodes (camera, lights) in your 3D file?

Have you checked the import settings and scale of your tree model? Are they there but just very very small?

Sorry for not replying, but have been afk:)
There is no thumbnail in the editor and there is no extra things in the scene. And I have checked the import settings. Any other things to be aware of?

Anyone who can help me out here?

Hey, sorry for spamming, but it’s pretty important that I get this to work. Any help would be appreciated.

Send me the tree that isn’t working to ethan [at] unity3d [dot] com and I’ll see what I can come up with.

So, Ethan looked at my model and found out that I had to delete the History from the mesh and freeze the transformations on it. He used Maya, so my problem is now, how do I do that in 3d Max?

Thanks for the help Ethan.

Go Ethan! As to the above, I personally have no clue, but either way you might want to start a new thread in External Tools and ask for help, that way it’s not hidden here in a Support thread.
