Ok then I found a workaround for Rider and Imma leave it here in case the apparently rare person who actually needs to navigate their scene while debugging specific cases needs it:
Preferences | Build, Execution, Deployment | Debugger settings page, disable the “break on unhandled exceptions” checkbox (preferably temporarily).
