Increasing shadow distance decreases quality.

As the title says. Im playing around with the Quality settings and I’ve found that increasing the shadow distance automatically decreases the shadow map quality.

Is there any way around this?

The shadowmap is just a texture with a certain size. If you increase the shadow distance, you are literally stretching that shadow texture.

You can also set the number of shadow cascades. Each shadow cascade is another texture and each texture is used for a certain distance from the camera. It’s pretty well explained here.
