This video depicts Arteria3d’s new Modular Medieval Building Kit. This kit allows you to construct a whole medieval city environment from many component mesh pieces, such as walls, windows, roofs and a whole host of authentic medieval textures sourced from real medieval towns in the uk. With the video, we also made the scene come alive, by
Whats more… have you ever tried laying out regular buildings on a sloped surface? Its almost impossible to do this. With this kit, as scene in pic 2, the kit is supplied with specially formed mesh bases, that fit to the buidligns first floor, so they can be positioned on a sloping cobbled street setting!
Kit also included animated Shop Signs, and WIndow Shutters.
The pack will be provided in two versions -
1 - The Core Pack - all the building components
2 - The Town Pack - containing as above, but with all the characters from the scene!
Customers can pre order the core Pack, for delivery tomorrow (Thursday) at just $65 for the core pack - The packs full price is $99.
This preorder also contains our Fantasy Medieval Music Pack 3 free.
Thanks for your kind words.
Yes, the next stage is interiors for the pack. This will be released very soon. Customers who purchase this core pack, also get a discount on the interior pack when launched too.
this pack looks better than some medieval pack you released years ago.
the textures looks more sharpen and clean. and the windows light looks nice.
is the window’s mesh have glow texture, or it’s just a light add to scene?
does this pack have church, smith, market, balcony?
The window effect is simulated with a reflective cubemap provided, and a pointlight next tothe window tinted orange.
In this pack, no churches, but this could be an add on at some later point. Re your blacksmith request, this could easily be created, as essentially a blacksmiths is a generic styled medieval building with large chimney at the back, and a forge at the front - the forge would be an additional prop, of which i could actually provide from another pack.
I think the most important part of this pack too, is the ease of which you can create cobble SLOPED steets which really has never been doable before due to the way buildings sit on a sloped terrain - the foundation meshes allow this, as you can see in pic 2 above.
This pack doesnt contain pre made buildings - it contains a collection of modular pieces to construct your own buildings. As well as new parts, i took elements from my previous packs. I will be producing a video too to show how you use the pack and quickly protype a level. Also, this pack is a first in terms of allowing you to construct sloped streets, due to the foundation elements.
The beauty of this modular pack is that you are not limited to using an artists building designs, and therefore having games duplicated with the same content, due to the fact that you can lay out the elements in any way you can imagine.
Thats the beauty of the pack - its modular. You can simply use the textures provided, or… highlight the wooden half timbre, with timbre geometry in the pack - this is shown in the video with some parts having just textures with normal maps, and other textures on the buildings having full half timbre wood standouts.
This is why i made a modular pack - you can create as LOW POLY, or HIGH POLY as you wish! Also many pieces are provided such as the window elements with standout geometry elements already mae.
Could you reference the models more off something like Skyrim? I know your models are based off more realistic scales and designs but so are Skyrim’s. Your models are nice but they need more detail, high res textures, and mass.
Do your models come with interiors?
Could I suggest a medieval pack more along the scale, detail, and textures of Skyrim?
As mentioned, the pack is a ‘modular’ medieval pack, whereby you construct to any style and also resolution in terms of geometry. Its not an interior pack at this stage. You can add, and add detail as much as you want - with the meshes. Resolution wise, they are high resolution textures. I personally prefer the medieval scene to the image you shown there, however it would be doable to create a representation of tha building with the component pieces of my kit so you could make buildings that resembled more in the image you posted.
Not without hand mande (or ultra high poly projection) normal maps and hand tuned paralax (height) maps. Your standard crazy bump normal/height maps (or which tool are you using) are simply not enough for such effect. Also textures itself would need lots of tuning, you are usually using photos without any other significant processing and this causes lots of various visual troubles.
Truth is, that that Skyrim scene is technically really better, by far. Anyway I am really looking forward your kit, especially if there is visual improvement over older release.
