Indie Developer Consulting - Your PR Marketing Partner For iOS, Android, PC MacOS

Introducing Indie Developer Consulting – Your PR Marketing Partner For iOS, Android, PC MacOS!
Indie Developer Consulting was founded in San Francisco in 2009 with the mission of servicing small- to medium-sized developers with their Business, Public Relations, and Marketing needs. Consisting of a small dedicated group of former games- and multimedia-journalists, our company has enjoyed much success in its short existence.

Our press release service is exceptionally popular, and is your PERFECT companion to announce the release and availability of a finished game, or to announce a work-in-progress project. Your press release will be personally written by us, and distributed by us to the global games- and app-industry press with more than 2500+ journalists covering print-, online-, newspapers and specialist media such as lifestyle magazines featuring game and technology content. The obvious advantages and benefits of a press release is added consumer attention, increased media exposure and in many cases, drastically increased sales.
Don’t take our word for it – check out some of the VERY successful game studios we have worked with on our website! Since we founded our business in 2009, we have had the pleasure of working with more than 500+ independent iOS® and Android™ developers, and we have written and issued more than 750+ press releases for those developers, some of which you can read on our website found at www.indiedeveloperconsulting.com.

When you order a press release from Indie Developer Consulting we will need some information concerning your game. Once this information is provided by you, we will research your game and finally put together a press release draft for your approval. When you are satisfied with the text we have written, and we have your consent and approval, we will proceed to send out the finished press release to our network of journalists (2500+), and for a period of 30 working days provide you with links to news, reviews, and any other coverage our media network makes available.

Please contact us by email if you have any comments, feedback or additional questions (bizdev@indiedeveloperconsulting.com).
Kind Regards
Indie Developer Consulting

I don’t think this is the right forum for the thread - but saying that PR and getting noticed is something indiedevs tend to forget including me

Update: I see this thread has now moved from showcase so my first comment doesn’t quite apply any more.

This is really not meant to offend, just an honest opinion.

First of all you really need to work on your presentation. Your website looks like something straight out of the 90’s, and therefore pretty unprofessional. I would never let anyone represent me / do my PR, when they can’t represent themselves properly. Also quantity really doesn’t equate to quality - Instead of simply listing every developer whom you have worked with, you should perhaps try to emphasize a few of the successful ones - maybe with some exact data on how your involvement has improved their “brand” (sales, downloads, views etc).

Also, try to be more sincere in the way that you approach potential customers. “and is your PERFECT companion… bla bla” The tone in your post is very reminiscent of what I would expect on late night TV-Shop. It seems kinda shady… -and again, a big reason for not entrusting you with my PR. The Indie community, as far as i see it, is all about distancing itself from the larger corporate industry - your approach should reflect this, and not try to emulate the “big talk”.

I hope this makes sense, and again -this is just my opinion and not meant to offend!

Good luck

Do you honestly think this is a reasonable request? Exact data on sales seems to be hard to come by, its seems quite rare when developers release specific information like that. I’d be grateful if you have seen many examples of that you can share, I like reading about them after all, just don’t see them much.

Sure. I don’t see why a company that sells marketing can’t provide data to show that they actually work? If there are NDA restrictions on existing clients - it’s pretty simple to do a couple freebie projects on the understanding that it’s a case-study.

TBH from the sounds of it IDC doesn’t actually do any ‘Indie Dev Consulting’ - they seem to be simply a PR template and mailing list.

No, it’s not reasonable at all. Clients would not like their PR firm releasing sales data at all, with or without an NDA. That would be a great way to lose all your clients. A couple of freebie projects might work, but an N=2 sample size would not be all the useful really, other than, ironically enough, as simply marketing.

Your second point seems valid enough, doesn’t seem like they do any consulting. More along the lines of sending out Press Releases, but there is value in that also, if it’s part of a marketing plan.

N=2 is better than N=0 :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t require it from a marketing company - but it helps and I’ve seen it done before. For example:

http://visualwebsiteoptimizer.com/split-testing-blog/saas-pricing-ab-test/

Good read. I wonder if they could do some meta analysis of all their clients to show statistical proof. Not sure of the legal/ethical issues there, but throwing them all together doesn’t seem too bad.

If you like reading about marketing analysis, cliffski blogs about that on occasion.

Looked at your website. It’s atrocious son, give it up. Also your text wall demonstrates nil understanding of how to keep a reader’s attention.

I don’t see how you could service our business.

Perhaps you should consider selling your “press release generator” software instead?

these guys just emailed me… i looked at their website! Totally Horrible!

so i replied in an email with the following (with the thought let me not judge a book by it’s cover right):

Ooo and its gets better… check this out.

So I reply with this

no “we wish you the best for your future and career” then?

this is how a real marketing agency is supposed to present itself: http://surpriseattack.com.au/

(we haven’t used them yet as we prefer publishers but they look good).
