The dumbed down COD with celebrity marketing will always make far more money than any indie title. Buying COD is cool in school its hip, all the cool kids do it and the dean is right, the parents will buy the children their COD to shut them up or get them to score higher marks in test.
Those stats you have there are only for PC and Steam sales, COD is a billion dollar franchise and all its money comes from the consoles. And this title says COD yet they are talking about an entire indie industry vs COD?
There is a reason that after 10 years, COD 17 and Madden 17 is the exact same as COD 4 and Madden 06.
It is the exact game about 99% identical as COD 4, just a new coat of paint. The reason for this is because the playerbase of COD cannot play other games and if they changed things too much they won’t be able to play it. It must remain exactly the same and the combination of selling the identically same game every year for $100 and celebrity marketing makes for a massive success.

I honestly am not concerned with how facts sound, they are facts and that is all I care about. Channels/sites like this live on sensationalist videos and articles and it is cancerous to human intelligence. Click bait like this should NEVER be promoted or advertised on any respectable form. We already have a hard enough time dealing with Youtube’s poor algorithm for recommended videos which mainly turn out to be you guessed it more click bait misleading videos with false information and videos that have absolutely nothing to do with your preferences.
Those guys have 200k views on the video they posted 2 weeks ago. This is not easy.

BECAUSE Call of duty is a billion dollar franchise it may easily end up earning less - due to massive operation cost. You need to run the numbers instead of just deciding “it can’t happen”.
Also, it would be great if people stopped treating “scientific method” as religion.
CNN and New York Times are well established press they also have massive amounts of supporters, yet they lie and fake interviews with their own camera men, their coverage of the recent big event that took place in the US aswell as their corruption exposed through wikileaks proves time and time again that numbers mean nothing and in noway ensures honest journalism.
Call of Duty does not earn less, it has been proven time and time again that it is a billion dollar franchise with little to zero effort put into its development. Clearly you do not play COD, otherwise you would realize there is almost 0 innovation happening at most they copied a lot of their gameplay from Titanfall for their recent titles. COD has clever marketing and that is all there is to it which is why the only FPS I play now are Arma 3 and Killing Floor 2
Doesn’t take a genius to figure out why The Division and GTA 5 has such massive development costs as compared to COD there is no bias here this is a fact, COD is dumbed down for casuals with little to no effort put into innovation and it continues to be a massive seller thanks to a long history of clever marketing. COD’s sales are trash on PC everybody knows this their playerbase is on consoles therefore the video posted from “The Know” is clickbait and misleading.

In the spirit of scientific method, provide numbers to support your point.
Revenue per the title they mentioned (Infinite wars) for the period they mentioned. Then subtract operation costs from it.
Try using google next time, its not perfect data but gives you a very good idea of Activision and their COD franchise which is pretty much their only major source of income in recent times.

You won’t get 100% accurate numbers on exactly the net income for everything unless you the chief accountant for Activision, so you need to stop grasping at straws at some point and accept reality. I am not playing your silly game here, just like I stopped playing the game with my good friend who said Trump won’t win, then he won, umm ok the EC won’t elect him, then they did, umm ok but he won’t be president because he will drop out. Then he said the problem with SFV is the netcode even though its a lie then he said MKXL netcode is not GGPO its generic roll back which makes it trash and horrible which also turned out to be a lie BUT was it GGPO? nope sooo he didn’t lie? well lets see lets say he didn’t lie, was it better than GGPO? it was identical or better than anyother game using GGPO therefore he was grasping at straws, or the problem with X game is its “game breaking glitch” which apparently is a glitch that you would play 1000 hours of said game and never once encounter a single person who either knows it or is able to pull it off, Stopped playing those silly games of who can grasp at the most straws and decided to live in reality.
This may not be perfect but it sure as hell is more scientific than click bait videos with misleading titles from a channel and site that is known for dishonesty. Its also commonsense to anybody that Activision releases their yearly iteration of the same game with a new coat of paint, and it doesn’t cost anywhere near what it costs Ubisoft to develop a game like The Division that one is commonsense.
Many of the devs who made Titanfall worked on COD:MW2 before that.

Umm MW2 didn’t have the jet pack and running on wall jumping gameplay. This crap started with Advanced Warfare and they wholesale copied it from Titanfall 1. No one is talking about MW2 devs creating Titanfall and adding wall run and jet packs here.
I am talking about Activision copying Titanfall gameplay and putting it in Advanced Warfare etc showing how much they lack innovation or even cares about investing in innovation. COD is the same game with a new coat of paint every year and if they do “innovate” the so called innovation is copied from some other game like say Titanfall.
As for your question why am I angry I am not angry, I just hate dishonesty, misinformation and propaganda along with click bait etc I especially dislike low IQ people who can only get views with click bait and misleading video titles it is cancerous and insulting to human intelligence.

One thing is certain for some time now, COD has been dying slowly but surely, Activision’s world record was beaten by GTA 5 and they lost a lot of pleyrbase who moved onto that and its music to my ears hopefully some day it will be dead and people can invest their money on much better games COD has consistently been cancerous to this new generation of gamers. Unfortunately it is still a massive franchise and no Indie studio in anyway comes close to a multi billion dollar company like Activision and anybody who suggests otherwise are delusional.
I am done with this thread I have made my point. Who can’t deal with facts that is their business.
