So, maybe you guys can point me in the right direction… I’ve been playing with unity for about a year or so now, made numerous smaller projects… I see people’s examples, and they look higher quality even when using just primitive shapes (Cubes/Spheres/Etc). When I do it, it just looks…Ugly. I know a decent bit about 3D, and understand that lighting makes the scene… Does anyone know of any documentation/tutorials/etc that give hints/tips/recommendations on how to overall increase the quality of a scene/game? Like “Use this Overlay”, use “This Filter with These Settings”, etc? Thanks.
There are two factors involved: style and self-confidence. Make sure your projects are perfoming exactly as described and intuitively. Feel free to share them. The only one who sees all flaws in the project is its author which is major part on why it feels ugly.
