Inhumane Treatment...Need Your Feedback

Hello Unity Community members. I need help creating a zombie game and I wanted your responses on whether my ideas are excellent;) enough to create an open world, corpse wandering, zombie game. I will post my ideas up on this page for you to read and give feedback on. Thank you and enjoy.

Here is the objective of the game: You are stuck in a so called abandoned city and you have NO supplies to defend yourself against the undead corpses that wander. Search the houses and shacks that surround you with supplies to thrive along with up to 8 survivors that can be with you.

That was to give you a start on how the game is going to be. :stuck_out_tongue:

That sounds like the most original, innovative, and ingenious idea ever…

… said no one ever.

I’m going to be honest here… you just named the most basic, simplistic, and most cliche idea ever. Search and survive… zombies… open world… This ā€œideaā€ is becoming comical whenever I see some one asking for ā€œfeedbackā€ on it.

Sure there’s nothing wrong with creating a game with this idea, but to ask for feedback…? Do you not do research?

I already have written down that there are going to be different zombies so I already have some ideas written down; you can also share your ideas if you wish to.

Lethalizer: A tall, lanky infected that forces out a noxious gas when you are near it. It is defenseless against fire arm.
Puppetist: An elderly infected that it’s mutation overdid itself and gave him the ability to move quickly and use his excessive muscle tissue to attach them to a survivors limb and control you like a string puppet and walk you into more danger unless you break out by pressing the jump button repeatedly until the bar fills up. Also he’s my favorite idea on the list.
Savage: This infected may look like the rest bust is far more feral than you think.
Lofter: A big fat zombie that can punch cars and throw boulders at you.
That’s all I have so far  more coming soon

Dude that idea isn’t thorough plus there’s a phrase that is take an idea and innovate it into your own. Concluding my comment if you have nothing good or motivational to say I’d rather you stay off this page. Thank you. :stuck_out_tongue:

1 - This really isn’t the proper place for this thread.

2 - Why are you double and triple posting?

3 - If you can’t take constructive criticism then your in the wrong business field, try another.

4 - Try at least listening to people, even if it hurts your little bubble, it was said in hope of giving advice.

5 - It may or may not be what you want to hear, but again, re-read #4.

#1 - Why did you have to reply to it if you don’t like it
#2 - Who are you to tell me where to take my business
#3 - I’m not offended by that because I know how the world is
#4 - I was posting more than one because I wanted to give you guys something to feedback on
#5 - #4 was the only one that gave me a little advice so I’d like to thank you for that

No hard feelings wasn’t trying to be rude in neither one of those posts.

#1 - Who said I didn’t like it?
#2 - Wow you haven’t heard? I am Unity God, I control all! :stuck_out_tongue:
#3 - You sure sound like you’re offended, now bow down and wash my feet slave! HAAHA JK JK JK JK JK.
#4 - Try not to do that, some people get weirded out about that lol.
#5 - At least one made sense to you lol.

LOL I know, I’m just bored lol.

As @Heu has stated there really isn’t anything in your ideas, both the one they quoted and the one I am quoting, that isn’t already being covered by practically every other clone. If you want your game to have any chance at success you’re going to need to come up with something they don’t do.

Start by researching your competition properly. Make a list of the features they possess and make a list of the popular complaints with the users. Determine from that what you need.

give feedback on what exactly?

you’ve provided nothing so far… you need to go away, come up with some decent ideas by yourself and think them through.

There’s no need to remake Silent Hill.

Thanks for the advice Ryiah. Your right i need to know my competition before anything.

@Julius_Studios - These forums got both enthusiasts and professional game developers. They can be really honest when they review an idea, they will tell you when they think that your idea smell like yesterdays cheese and so on. They also expect people to follow common forum rules like not bumping your thread and such stuff.

Nothing wrong with zombies though, personally love them when done right. The problem is that they were a fad a pair of years back and many users haven’t recovered their interest yet. That is why some people will react a bit harshly to zombie games at the moment. It didn’t help that your concept copied ideas from Left for Dead and many other popular zombie games.

I too have to agree that I didn’t see anything original. I wouldn’t be that interested as a consumer because I can just as easily start any of my AAA zombie games that I already own… You lack one or more ā€œUSPā€:s (Unique Selling Point), something that only you can offer and this gets even more important when you want to impress people with a game that belongs to a genre that already passed its peak for the moment.

This is a good time to gather information and search for inspiration. I can see a few things that would change the way the game would be played, some AI changes could also increase tension etc… still wouldn’t be enough for a final product but enough to start giving it a fresh feeling… or turn it around… Still, would be more fun to play as the zombie

There’s several AAA devs lurking on these forums, you won’t always know who they are. I’ve got a pretty good idea though.

stares at the AAA devs lurking Yes I can see you.

Your ideas are far, far too vague to be excellent.

Go to the game design forum with a 10-20 page game treatment document, and maybe there’ll be something worth discussing there. But for now? No.
