Installer aborted, installation failed.

So basically when I try to install the latest version of Unity( Unity 2018.2.17f1 ) or any other version via the Unity Hub the installition fails and the installer is closing.
The progress bar starts and also goes trough until the end, but then a error message pops up( check the link Imgur: The magic of the Internet or attached file ) saying the installion had an error.
Also when trying to install via the installation assistant nothing happens after asking for admin permissions and the window dissapears.
This is what I did:

  1. Started Unity Hub
  2. I had chosen the installation path
  3. Went to “Installs” and started downloading Unity 2018.2.17f1(also tried other versions without success)
  4. the download bar started and went till the end
  5. Got the attached error messaged

Note: The problem still exists even after reinstalling the Hub, I also tried multiple installion paths and versions.
I had been using Unity fine & without problems before on my current pc, which is a while ago already tho and Unity was installed on a hard disk that is not connected to my pc anymore, which makes me wonder even more why it does not work since even older versions won´t install.

I hope someone can help me solve the issue.

Disk space?

30gb free space on my c drive and over a terrabyte on my second drive

i have the same issue.
Weirdly enought 2018.1.6 was successfully installed with Visual Studio Enterprise. But I need 5.6.3 and 2017.4.1 to maintain older projects. Both of these fail when attempting to install via Hub or directly.

I tried installing just the editor: same error

Computer is running Win 10 v1809 build 17763.194
