When I run the ./install.sh, I get the following error message:
So I go to the dreamhost panel to create the user, but dreamhost panel complains that the user is already created and that I cannot create a user with that name. Although I do not have a user with the name “unitysrv” listed at all.
I see in the install.sh that there are refs to the user unitysrv, but I’m not sure what to do?
If you need any assistance I can look into your account to see whats going on, I just need you to either provide your WebID or Domain.
When logging in to your panel you can also contact our Live Chat which may be able to assist you with what you are trying to do, it’s one of our newest and quickest tools. You can also contact our support team through your panel as well https://panel.dreamhost.com/index.cgi
A one-click install of the unity asset-server would be great!
(Maybe the European dev inspiration at Unite Nordic this month could serve as a motif?)
The id is (#1242765), I placed the installation outside the web-root in “assetserver”, (actually I’m not sure that is all correct either?)
There seems to have been created a user, “unitysrv”, that I cannot delete, and/or recreate?
The unity asset server needs to set an admin password when installing, and I assume this is the installation adminuser that fails in some way?
Due to the nature of the situation our Jedi Techs would need to fix it since I am not in that area of expertise…YET!
I would suggest speaking with a LiveChat representative, they explain in detail and are with you the whole time. It’s almost as if they were right there next to you! https://panel.dreamhost.com/index.cgi?tree=support.msg (WebPanel)
The LiveChat button should be on the top of any page once you log in to your panel.
If you’re logged in to the panel then I believe this LiveChat link will work if you don’t see the LiveChat button once you log in.

Unity asset server is now installed and running.
Please run /opt/unity_asset_server/bin/reset_admin_password to set the administrator password
From there I set my password and moved forward.
My Asset Serer is on a Debian Squeeze 6.0.9 with DreamHost, and I run Windows 8.1 on my home PC.
