Hello @TommyDidIt ,
The download custom path is in our roadmap for editor installations and learn tutorials/projects installations.
Thank you for your feedback !
I believe there is serious confusion regarding how these files are downloaded. I instructed a work student this week to download the Tutorial Project and begin working on it, and they were able to demonstrate their work to me throughout the day.
We discovered this morning (having to look at Visual Studio’s ‘Recent Files’ to determine the mystery file path) that once the tutorial is downloaded, Unity opens & saves to the downloaded ‘temp’ instance of the tutorial (in $TMPDIR on Mac OS X) rather than the ‘chosen’ save location.
Obviously this is then completely lost when the computer is restarted, and results in all of the students work vanishing. The ability to set the location should be implemented sooner rather than later, as I believe this a genuine oversight on the Mac implementation.
When you download a project from Unity Hub Lean, it is downloaded to a temp folder. Then, when you quit Unity you are asked if you want to keep it or not. You must choose to keep it and then save it where you want it to be installed.
Is there some way to change this in a settings file somewhere until it’s added to the front end? I’d really prefer to save those base learn projects to another drive.
