Hi Unity community! To quickly introduce myself, my name is Ron and I’m one of the founders of Cartrdge.
Recently launched, Cartrdge is portfolio community exclusively for the video game industry; designers to animators to artists to composers, all the way to the folks who do stuff like UI design. We wanted this to be a place where all of the different creative people involved in making video games can come together and get discovered for their work and skills. That’s what makes us different from the other portfolio sites out there; we support things like SoundCloud embeds, so that even the composers and SFX folks can get involved!
Our goal is to make it easy for our users to get discovered for their work, so that someone looking to build a team, hire or collaborate comes to Cartrdge to find who they’re looking for. We’ll soon be launching advanced search to make that happen. What you’ll be able to do is search for, say, an “Animator (or composer, game designer, etc) who lives in Seattle, who knows Maya.” You’ll then see a list of the people who fit that criteria, and be able to easily click to their portfolio and check out their actual work.
I linked to the website and sign up page below so you can check it out:
Thanks cyberpunk! Nothing wrong in my opinion with experimenting with a bunch of things, but perhaps this might motivate you to continue working on a project?
Also I always like when people post WIP as we’re a portfolio site, and seeing a project go from beginning to end is really cool
Right now the max is 8k (although we may reduce that) - so you should be covered! We do have a minimum though, 320x320px. Can you give me a bit more info on what you tried to upload, or even take a screenshot of the whole page when that happens?
Ahhh, now I understand. That’s the header image for a project page (which must be why the thumbnail is breaking as well). That has a max dimension of 4k, and your image must be going over. However that does seem to be an error on our part as well as the system should simply stop you from uploading the header altogether, instead of producing a broken thumbnail.
My opinion is that you should crop the image to a more widescreen dimension (under 4k for the width as well) and try again. We’ll look into the bug!
