Introducing my new Zombie Shooter game... hahaha : Zombie Town.

Just a working title for now.

Hi there.
I’m Michco, from USA, and not new to making unity games, but new to this group.
The last game I made was 2012, called THE WAREHOUSE, with a little botbot you control.
Just in the last month I have decided to get back into making a Unity 3D game (well one to start).
I would love to get any help in this dept., but i want to make a better ZOMBIE game.

First Person Shooter, SLOW zombies, maybe 4 weapons and health pickups, doors that open,
and making it SCARY, like slender man frightening.
Once I make the basic game I’d invite others to submit a game map, to be used as one level in the game.
I could put some difficulty settings (easy, med, hard).
Rather than just mindless killing, I want to tell a SIMPLE story, and you have to complete one map to get to the next level.

My SKILLS: i’m good at .js programming, I use Maya modelling (love low poly models) and love to design game maps.

FYI, I’m over 40 and design games for fun. If, perchance, this ZOMBIE game is good, i’d like to host it on all the 3D sites, and maybe even make a little money back for those hundreds of hours spent making the game,

Anyways, good to be here.
Cheers,

  • Michco

Hey there!

Great project to start off with! If you’re wanting to go a little more serious with your project like you’ve mentioned, I’d suggest you to rework animations. I like the concept, even thought there are thousands of these, and it could turn out to be good if you put some originality in at some point of the development.

Are you the one who also made the 3D models used in the game and shown in the video? They’re great, but the arms look more like cartoon-ish while the zombies are low poly but struggling to be high quality. I’d suggest you to also use lower tile ‘number’ in the terrain settings in order to make the ground look more realistic (the texture itself). Also play around with lights alot, it’s a very useful resouce to get use of!

Glad to have you on the forum, best of luck with your project! Feel free to ask on if you ever need help, I’d love to try and help from the Forum!

Hi Sykoo. Thanks for replying.
Yes I have since discovered the higher res for the terrain builder and the textures there.
I made the guns and the player arms. I wanted to make some of my own assets in Maya. I now have great shooting animations, a gun system (loading, empty, etc), worked a lot on the zombie AI, took another 10 hours to come up with some nifty tricks, and most recently adding some projector shadow blobs under trees.

OMG. I wanted a semi truck and trailer, and that took me almost 20 hours to
get the details right.

It’s been 3 weeks and I’ve learned a lot of NEW tricks.
I’ll upload a vid soon of the progress.

Looks very well now! Good job on that project  I’m glad that the tetures are now higher resolution, they look much better now. If you’ve modeled all these stuff, you’re an amazing modeller and I wish I could be one too :frowning:

Good job mate, keep it up!
