Introduction and questions <3

Hey all I’ve been lurking around the forums for awhile looking for information and I haven’t found what I’m looking for so I’ve decided to make a post myself.
I’m just wondering what would be the best way to start making games for unity, what is the best scripting to use… pretty much what is the best way to start learning unity and start making games which is all I want to do for the rest of my life!
Currently I know almost nothing about programming and I’m learning maya with a student trial and a dvd download I bought from gnomon workshops - link - http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/product/1054/#.UkpnKZ1--70

Right now I’m 16 I’m going into software development next year for school aswell as physics ( apparently very important for a lot of game development ) im setting my self up for a careers with games and i want to start as early/young as possible. Im planning on getting a subscription to digital tutors and learning unity with that ( any recommendations ? )

Im planning on learning C# aswell as python ( for maya ) and when ive developed enough skill me and my friends want to make a game togther using unity, ( we were planning on using UDK but that will be our next project ) im wondering how long it will take for me to learn C# doing about an hour of coding a day 5/7 days a week.
I’m planning on focusing on the 3d and concept art but want to learn C# aswell or boo ( preferrably C# )

Thank you in advance, ben dover  no homo.

Welcome to the Unity side! How much it will take to learn Unity and C#? Well it depends on lots of things. For example how much you are persistent and eager to learn. My best suggestion for now would be: do not start with big projects. Start small and everything else will become natural.

Good luck!

thank you I was also wondering if their are any unity programming or c# programming for games books anyone could recommend ?
maybe some tips for starting out? apart from starting with small projects :stuck_out_tongue: ?
