I’m trying to implement IK for the first time, and the docs seem really empty about any useful information on how IK works.
I currently have a model with a bunch of animations, including a running one (download here if you want to check http://creativiii.com/files/model.fbx). From what I understand IK is supposed to make the leg movement more natural so that the character doesn’t look like he’s sliding as he moves, what I don’t understand is how that’s implemented.
I see that my animation, inside the animator, has a Foot IK checkbox, but I can’t find any explanation on how this works. I enabled IK in my base layer, I even enabled “Apply Root Motion” to my character, but absolutely nothing seems to change.
I am very confused as to what I’m doing wrong and would be very grateful if someone directed me in the right direction.
