Hello everyone! I just released a game for iOS and Android called Jumping Simulator, it’s the first game i release.
The objective is simple, you (the player) have to jump from one rock to another and grab the coin on each of them to increase your score, the highest score is recorded for you to beat it, what makes the game challenging and frustrating tho is that the rocks are quite small, they move from one place to another pretty quick and they also spin, the cycle goes for as long as you are capable of surviving, trust me, the game is pretty good and addicting… I made the graphics look pretty without killing performance. I gotta say i was successful since i get smooth gameplay on an iPhone 4s and an old android phone… oh and i also added some nice royalty free music…
What i want is to give me your honest thoughts and tell me how can i improve the game, what should i add/change/remove, i already have some ideas, like adding more levels with different themes, more rock 3D models, levels of difficulty and such, but i want to know what people suggest… am i in the right direction or should i just quit and make another game(lol)?
Don’t take offense, but I’m pretty surprised this managed to pass Apple’s QA standards… From the screenshots, it appears to be more at the polish level of a functioning prototype than a full-fledged game. Compared to your first game you shared with the community, even, this seems to be a bit of a step backwards.
Can I ask… Why the untextured, stress-ball-looking character that doesn’t seem to fit with the rest of the game’s aesthetic? And the flat UI with no type of styling to speak of?
This game is something i put together in a little over a week when i came up with the idea, that’s why it looks like a prototype, because it is, idk why Apple accepted it, but maybe it’s because the gameplay wasn’t that bad… idk lol
Yes, it does need more work on the interface and character but I’m actually working on it, the current UI is just a placeholder, just like i said on the OP, updates are on it’s way. I just didn’t have the time to work on a better UI that’s why i rushed it and uploaded it as it is, but that’s something I’m gonna fix real soon in an update, among other few things to polish this game…
Now, having said that… Regarding the gameplay itself, it’s actually entertaining if you take the time to play it. It’s free so it’s not a bad idea to give it a try you know
But seriously, thank you for your feedback, i did have those changes in my TO-DO list actually but it’s nice to hear the feedback from someone else, as i said, i want honest feedback, as good or bad as it might be so i do appreciate it, have a great day/night!
It is on my To-do list, perhaps i was too hasty when i uploaded it unfinished but i’ll make a better UI and character don’t worry, thanks for the feedback!
Now, regarding the gameplay itself, it’s not that bad actually, the game is free so why not give it a try?
