Hey everyone,
I recently released a 2D cartoon-style runner / racing game.
It is my first Unity game but I made a previous an iOS game “Arno the Hunter” that was downloaded ~1.5 million times.
Feel free to ask questions about Bintu Run or it’s development or leave comments.
Thanks,
Jon

The graphics is sweet!
I wonder if it makes more fun to be able to jump when being a little roll, ever tried that?
Thanks, I like the graphics too!
I can say that because I only assembled the levels and let real artists draw the sprites/textures =)
I did experiment with controls. The current double-tap to stand/jump out of roll can take a bit of getting used to, but other control schemes (like tapping to toggle roll on/off, tap to jump) seemed to cause a bit more confusion in general, it’s hard say for sure. In the current options there is one for swipe controls where a long swipe will go straight from roll to jump, but dragging felt a bit less responsive than just tapping. While some casual players liked it, it was also common for casual players to be confused and try swiping forward/back to attempt to move the character in that direction instead of just up/down. So in the end I just kept the original control scheme.

I didn’t recognise that double tab let’s you jump out of the roll, maybe my fingers are not suitable for touch screens!
But yes, gameplay testing with actual gamers tells you what to do, well done!
It’s out now for Android too. Actually slightly updated from current released iOS version.

David : I probably didn’t have enough testers to be sure about anything, just enough to be confused and decide on what seemed to test slightly better =)
