iOS: There is any way that a new release screw up an already approved version?

We have our app approved by iTunes and it is ready to release in a future date. Meanwhile the apple was approving we did some improvements that I want to submit.

I know that appear to be obvious the answer NO, but I am afraid to trash our launch. iTunes have so many strange behaviours.

If you have an approved version, regardless of whether or not it’s live on the App Store, then it won’t be removed if an update is submitted and then rejected, no.
