Does Unity have any plans for support of the recently revealed iPad from Apple?

From what I understand, the iPad runs all current app store apps and games so Unity is there already. If it runs on the iPhone, it will run on the iPad.

Yes but the resolution is also larger, so I’m wondering if we will be able to build for this display resolution, instead of having players just stretch the ipod/iphone game to be full screen.

I suspect Unity, like every other game platform, does have plans. Next release - Unity iPad.

But I’ll ask too. What’s the plan Unity? Can you tell us anything, HiggyB?

Judging from what I’ve been looking at in the SDK, I don’t think we are in for a long wait. Basic functionality could come VERY soon to Unity iPhone.

In the future, there are some features that could be taken advantage of, but I think UT will see the value in having some of their customers right there at the launch.

In short, games translate much easier than apps. At least technically.

Reading other threads. There are some complications. The obvious one I should have realized: No one has the hardware in their hands to test.
