Development is quite near to the end so I feel like to post address to our blog.
There’s a section MEDIA on the left but no gameplay video yet, it will be available soon though, just the time to transfer controls from mouse/keyboard to touch.
As you can see in the last post on the blog, we are looking for beta testers on iPhone and especially Android.
Mostly to check that the game is working well on more devices, but we are open to critics and suggestions.
We are on the final stage before releasing a beta version and we need some help to see how it runs on different devices.
We are also open to listen your comments and critics on the game itself.
That game looks awesome and I would love to test it for you if you want. I have an iPad, iPod Touch 4th gen and an iPhone 3GS to test with. PM me for the UID’s you want me to test it on.
Thank you very much, can you sign in sending a mail to beachmarbles@gmail.com with subject BETA?
Anyway, as first exit we are going to publish for Android, so we’ll talk about that on January
OK guys, be it that you like the game or not, alpha version is on the market and it would be cool if you could try to download it and see how it runs on your Android and report here a couple words.
DON’T BE TOO HARD WITH THE STARS!
It’s ALPHA version and not playable but it will be in the next days, maybe in the next 24h!
Back key is now implemented in-game: it opens a screen with options to RESUME, MAIN MENU (bugged, it does not reinitialize all correctly, you have to press again BACK and then RESUME to restart the game correctly), QUIT (working).
Of course it will be also implemented in the menu
The game is actually pausing if you hit the HOME button, but I don’t know if in the last uploaded version it was already this way.
Going to upload new version tomorrow, anyway
Yes loading takes a bit too much for my tastes but textures are high res… I’m considering to split the full game into two versions: LOW RES and HD, like many other games are doing.
Textures are the biggest memory eater in a game actually.
I don’t know if it is possible to implement a progress bar on the launch: only a picture is available actually in the options for Unity Android.
Maybe it’s possible to implement it for map loading, I’ll check for that.
By the way, how did you find the controls?
Yesterday I had a friend of mine giving me an idea to make the ball shooting easier and faster: he said why not just drag around like you do to rotate the camera to change the hit direction and I think this could be a very good way to escape that left/right/up/down boring joystick (also I felt stupid for not thinking about it myself…).
megmaltese, have you introduced LVL checking on your game and if so what did you do to get it checking the servers ? I am almost ready to ‘deliver’ my game but want to get LVL working first
Honestly I really didn’t take the time to see how this LVL thing works… the game is actually completely free and this is beta version of the light free version.
I’ll be glad if you can enlighten me on how to set up LVL and how it works ehehehehe
I have just seen that the Android Dev page about it is looooooooonnnnnggg
