iPhone development without a Mac?

Hi,

A very simple question that I just didn’t find in the docs: Is it possible develop iPhone games with Unity using a Windows (or linux) PC?

I have no experience with Macs at all  Nor could I really afford one right now.

Thanks!

No, for iPhone development you must own an Intel Mac with OSX 10.5.3 or higher.

Thanks,

So just to be completely accurate, emulators would not do the trick?

such as this: OSx86 Project | InsanelyMac

(just googled that)

Potentially and potentially not.
They are not supported and any working with them is your problem and naturally, a failure of working with it wouldn’t grant you any refunds so you would either lose money or would have to get a mac anyway.

Generally, Hackintosh and emulators share one thing and that is that the amount of work to get them run fine for long time or to even get the required hardware to work at the start isn’t trivial and its questionable that its worth the effort if you realistically rate your hours lost on maintenance instead of work because the cheapest mac that does the job, the mac mini, costs a bit more than $700

Ok, thanks a lot for clearing that out!

I can definitely believe that, as I have wasted hours after hours trying tweak “almost” working software especially on linux

So I guess I start saving for a Mac
