I’ve already said all this but here we go again.
Once upon a time there were a lot of devs (myself included) bashing on Unity’s door for not updating their obsolete .net version and instead announce a lot of cool but detached features (basically DOTS) that would serve only a handful of new projects. The “core” forum was in a state similar to what the dots forum is right now.
Until… until a single guy from Unity actually started taking 5 mins each week to answer us, explain the challenges, explain ideas (without any time frames nor promises), etc… and now, 2y later, even if we still don’t have .net5 nobody is bashing unity anymore for that, we are all patiently waiting and helping to QA the little advancements that were made (like migration to 2.1 standard)
(there is an older thread but this is the relevant one now)
