They’re rich, or at least they’ve got enough disposable income to afford Starbucks. They don’t want to play a game where you can’t just buy victory. This is western civilization, everything is for sale. The game is “free” so everybody is going to download it. Then they can do what they want, spend money on whatever they want, etc. It’s just giving them freedom to do what they like to do anyway… spend money on stuff they don’t need. The game is secondary to this crack-like addiction to blowing cash as recklessly as possible. The video game industry (aka EA) just invented the least responsible way to blow money with F2P and therefore, they have built an empire.
If you think I’m wrong, you probably bought Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
