Is it normal for Xcode to spend a long time linking?

I’m attempting to build a relatively simple (not even finished) game in Xcode after generating the project from Unity. Xcode as it stands now has spent about an hour saying “Linking” (using close to full CPU in the activity monitor).

Are very long link times normal even for a small game?

My game is not too small, has about 40 objects to link, takes a couple minutes in link-phase at most. Sounds fishy what you got there.
