Is it possible to create a model for a character where the shoulder width defined by certain bones can be controlled and the model “stretches” to match the position of the respective bones?
Would this all be possible within Unity or do I have to set things up elsewhere like Blender?
Any pointers where I could look to learn are also very welcome.
Thanks.
Do you mean the scale in the Transform?

I’m not really sure about the bone, but I think you are looking into blendshape.

So. I was thinking of having some sort of “skin” for a character. Say we have 2 characters with the same skins but one has wider shoulders. Then could you setup the mesh/etc in such a way that the skin sort of “stretch” when I widen the gap between the shoulder bones?
