Throne Wars is an extremely flawed game published by Flare Games. It’s a 2D slow paced MMO. It’s kind of like Sim City except you can attack other players. Can I create a similar game using Unity and Amazon web services as the backend?
I freely admit that I’m a complete noob when it comes to all of this, but I want to create my own game and someday publish it. Will Unity work for this?
Most definitely, yes. Of course it’s a huge amount of work, requires to write server code, keep stuff in sync, and a lot of other complex challenges. It is doable though with the right resources and enough time.
Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately I don’t know how to code. I’m doing the Unity tutorials and I’m learning that way. I get the feeling I’m biting off more than I can chew.
That’s what I was afraid of. Learning how to code in itself isn’t easy. This game will be well beyond my ability to code for quite some time. I’m guessing years or never.
Funding is an issue. That’s why I decided to learn C# and Unity. To save the costs of hiring a programmer.
In the end all I have is an idea. I’ve been playing Throne Wars for 2 years and Flare refuses to fix key bugs that have ruined the game. I know that if that game was managed properly and time was spent on improving it that it’d be huge. Flare has decided other projects are more important to them and thus aren’t spending the resources needed to fix/improve it.
It’s disheartening knowing I have great ideas for a spectacular game and I have no way to make it happen.
