is it possible to do additive animation?

I would like to know if it is possible to create additive animation with custom rig. As I use creatures and not humanoids, it is impossible to use the system (Avatar Mask).

Here is the expected result
Add 2 clip animations to change the motion by context.

Use a {walk cycle} clip + a {turn head} clip when a creature changes direction.

Yes - it is possible. Look in the documentation. Look into animation layers and of course additive animation.

Also - look into IK for an alternative to additive animation approach for head turning.
