Is it possible to use an unmanaged C++ DLL as a plugin in Unity?

Hello, is it possible to write Unity (Pro) plugins in unmanaged C++, e.g. compiling Bullet in a DLL and load it in a C# script within Unity? Or the DLLs must be managed (C++/CLI)?
