Is the 2017 stream more stable than 2018?

My mobile (iOS/Android) app, built with Unity 5.6.6f2, was pretty stable for 7 months, but had a few crashes that I reported to Unity. Unity just closed the bugs and told me that the 5.6 stream isn’t being actively supported any longer.

So I updated to the latest build on the 2018 stream (2018.3.11f1 at the time), and within days of releasing my updated app, I’ve received 5 different types of crashes across numerous devices – all within Unity’s code libraries. It is way less stable than the 5.6.6 stream.

The 2019 stream is still in beta as of now, so this leaves just the 2017 stream to try.

Does anyone have an Android/iOS app out built using a 2017.x build that isn’t crashing due to Unity’s code?

Did you file any bug reports for the crashes?

Yes, so far I’ve filed 1143991, 1144062, and 1143994.
