Hello fellow developers!
I am extremely concerned that the development of the new input system is slowing down. There is no new remote, no touch gestures like promised, and @Rene-Damm has not been seen in ages.
Does anyone have insight?

Hi, it’s very much alive. We’re mostly in bug fix mode for at least the past six months though, so even though we’ve fixed a tonne of bugs, there hasn’t been a lot of work on new features and it might not look like much progress from outside.
Bumpy road but yeah, what Andrew says.
1.0 suffered from trying to bite off too much with too little manpower. Especially considering that getting out a new Unity feature comes with a bunch of stuff that has little to do with what’s happening in the code. So yeah, that put us on a rocky path going from 1.0 to 1.1 final – which, however, is now right around the corner.
Over the past few months, there’s been some really great organizational changes around input. I don’t expect some immediate massive shift but fact is, it’s in a better spot now than it ever was before.
Bothering me, too.
It seems there’s also something wrong with versioning in Package manager. The latest version is not the one on top and even if updated version is latest, package manager still informs to update to “older” version. Quite confusing to me at first.
Also I’d like to take this chance to thank you for all your awesome works. Have a nice day.
Indeed, annoying. I believe this issue has been fixed in a recent version of Unity.
Fortunately, 1.1 final will happen shortly and finally put an end to the rather messy 1.1 preview version timeline.
Thank you
@Rene-Damm Do you know if 1.1 will be “verified” for the 2020 LTS?
Plan is to backport the 1.1. verified change to 2020 LTS as soon as it has landed in current Unity. So, barring any unforeseen problems/hurdles, answer is yes.
Hrm, probably can’t wait! Today’s adventure, Saving Keybinds!
2019 LTS?
Planned.
Note that even if the manifest change for the editor isn’t (yet) backported, 1.1 verified will be usable in either of those LTS versions.
There is a script that some guy made and i’m using with my project, you can use remote app with the new input system and it works very well. Do you have it?
“Some guy” That was me.
And here.
