The manual is online at:
Also in the Unity Installation there is a printable Version.
It’s online as well: http://unity3d.com/support/documentation/printable.html
that’s great, but he’s asking about a pdf file. I agree, they really need one.
I’m quite satisfied with the online and offline docs, especially since they come included with a nifty search field. While a printed PDF version of the docs would make for some great toilet reading material, I wouldn’t find it all that useful in a productive sense.
How could that possibly be useful? This documentation is not at all the kind of thing you read straight through.
I read the Unity docs / code based on what I’ve read in the bathroom all the time, actually. Just put your laptop on a stand in front of the throne. And I don’t care if that’s too much information. It’s good for you! Don’t sit there wasting time!  :o
It’s more convenient if you use your iPhone/iPod touch instead of lugging a laptop and stand around.

I’ll chime in to indicate that we hear and know of the request for a PDF version, my colleagues above were simply pointing out what is in fact available that often (not always) meets the same needs.
Open the page: File → Print ->Click the PDF button. Don’t forget that OS X can print to PDF.
Darnit! Beat me to it!
