Hey,
Can I submit / upload 6 Gb asset to asset store? or Is there a file size limit for assets ?
Thanks
If your submission is more than 2 GB, it may be denied with this message:
“We cannot accept your package because it is 2GB or larger. Please reduce your file size to less than 2 GB or split this package into more than one package.”
Is this a new… rule? I’ve seen assets that are larger than 2GB - e.g. this one coming in at 2.5GB:
ArchVizPRO Interior Vol.6
Edit: Even Unity’s Buried Memories Volume 1: Yggdrasil - Icon Pack asset is whopping 11.3GB big!
Someone pointed out Yggdrasil in the Publishers forum section. But it’s their store; they can break their own rules if they want.
I worded my reply “it may be denied” because different Asset Store staff might not be 100% consistent about applying the rule. At least one person has reported getting denied because of that limit, though.
BTW, from Unity’s Submission Guidelines:
3.5 File Size
3.5.a Please Note: Users may experience problems importing large packages. Make sure all of your assets are as optimized as they can be or if applicable, your submission should be split into multiple packages to help prevent issue with users downloading your content.
3.5.b Due to technical restraints, submissions over 4GB will be rejected. Packages over 2GB that show instability issues or unoptimized qualities may be rejected.
