Is Unity 4 Remote compatible with Unity 5 or will we need to wait for a new updated, Unity 5 equivalent version. Thanks!
Like the users above mention, turns out the Unity4 remote app does support Unity 5. Couple of steps to troubleshoot connectivity include:
- Go to the menu bar and select Edit->Project Settings->Editor. From there, make sure Unity Remote->Device is set to any Android Device.
- Ensure USB Debugging is enabled on Android
- Once USB Debugging is enabled, close and reopen Unity.
Then test.
To enable USB debugging you first need to enable developer mode.
Go into settings > system > about and tap the android build # 7 times. It will tell you developer mode is enabled. Then you can access USB Debugging from developer mode options (which have now appeared under ‘system’).
On my Nexus 5 phone, I got it to work using Stampyturtle’s answer but had to do one additional step between step 2 and step 3:
Tap the “USB for Charging Touch for more options” message and select “File Transfer”. The message changes to “USB for File Transfer”
If anyone is looking for one, I made a new one, completely wireless:
