is there a way around occlusion culling? without having to buy pro?

i have a standard terrain with some trees and grass but when i move around in first person .it’s not visual screen choppy but you can tell it’s not running smoothly …is there anyway to fix this problem without having to dish out $1,500 …maybe it’s possible to split the terrain in half and have a load in between …idk…help please

There’s an alternative system that might work for you. Haven’t used it, but it’s been recommended to me previously in these forums:

Occlusion culling won’t work at all for terrains anyway. I’m not sure what you mean by “it’s not visual screen choppy but you can tell it’s not running smoothly”…if it doesn’t look choppy, then it’s not, as far as I know. Anyway you can change the terrain settings to get faster framerates; in particular the pixel error is generally too low by default, and should probably be increased.
