Is there a way to export animated UVs from a 3d package?

I’m trying to determine whether I can export animated UVs from an object material from within 3dsMax or Maya into Unity. So far it seems like FBX doesn’t export that type of animated data. Has anyone managed to do this?

So far all I’ve read on these forums is animation from within Unity, however I’d rather have animation done by animators in the 3d package and the data exported.

Any info would be appreciated.

Edit: I’ve tried collada and 3ds format to no avail.

Try different formats. Collada or 3DS might do it.

Blender can do animated textures, maybe in .blend format you can do that, opening directly the .blend with Unity 3D.
