Is there any way to make google cardboard vr work without enabling virtual reality supported in player settings?

I’m trying to test something with google cardboard and I’ve been able to get it to work but if I enable Virtual reality supported to make it show 2 displays so it can work as vr it stops working, is there any way I can show 2 displays for vr without enabling the virtual reality supported setting?

I made it works a long ago using Cardboard API prior to Unity 2018.4
