Is there java binding for Unity?

I am intresting this engine. Is it support java language?

No, but C# is really similar to Java.

Thanks. But what version of .NET framework is supported?

None, but it uses Mono 1.2.5, which is approximately equal to .NET 2.0 (plus or minus a few things here and there).

it is to be regretted that they are don’t choose java instead mono…

But are there plans for supporting of newer version of Mono in future? (2.4.2 version of mono has java language)

I know you’re speaking for yourself but if they used Java instead, I wouldn’t be here

And to answer your question, I believe they will update it but not until 3.0.

Using a never version of mono is planned (guess for 3.0) as it was impossible to do for 2.6 due to incompatibilities between mono 1 and 2. Compatibility is required as all 2.x webplayer apps must run on the most current installation to which it auto updates basically.

Though if you use another syntax you will have to learn one of the supported languages up to a given point to be able to use the docs.

Thank for answers
I am forced to learn C#, becouse this engine is really powerfull. But I steel be at loss, why they decide to use so half-done technology as Mono? It have zero advantages in compare to java.
Java platform support more languages then Mono. There are unique Scala language. java is much, much good perfomance then Mono (up to 3-4 when comparing with java6 -server, see perfomance tests). And it is very stable. Mono can be atacked by Microsoft at any point using patents.

Because java 4 years ago was a completely not done technology for hardware accelerated DX and OpenGL 3d technology.
Not sure if shader accelerated DX9 is capable at all by now, only know of OpenGL based technology.

Also you should inform yourself on the case of Mono instead of just repeating what other Microsoft haters throw around just to justify their dislike on .NET and Mono and Microsoft in general.

In the end they decided that they want to go this way and I think the Unity 2.6 shows that it wasn’t a bad decision to do so

I thought that Unity was writen on C++ and Mono only binding for it… If it was writen on C#, then no questions and java don’t choice.

I don’t repeat, It is very objective that I said. It is seem very strange as far as I very bed know English.

The editor and part of the system are C#.
For the editor that especially means that you can more or less recreate anything you see since Unity 2.5 and make the editor really be “your projects editor” if you want.

As far as the engine itself goes, the terrain system is primarily C#, and so is the OnGUI system. The rest is C++ as far as I know. Mono has worked out pretty well, and I doubt they’re going to switch over to something else at this point. If you don’t like C#, use Javascript or Boo.
