Is there security hole in Unity beta?

Security hole?

On favorites, let say you accidentally delete All Prefabs, All Scripts, etc.
But how do you restore it if you install new Unity betas? It’s not there?

Does it slow down Hard Drive? It does on clean install.
Hope Unity fix it…It will make new users format HD and lose their game source code.

Hi particlemars,
Could you please elaborate on a) what you think is happening and b) why you think that is a problem?

Favorites in the project view are just references and don’t contain the data they point to. Take a look at this:

To restore a favorite, simply type in the search and hit the star button at the top right of the project.

For example, if you want an “All Scenes” favorite, type “t:scene” in the search box, then hit the star button.

And anyone who formats their hard drive because they accidentally deleted a favorite search has seriously misunderstood some rather fundamental things.

Moved to Getting Started as it’s not anything to do with 2017.1 beta.

For that matter someone who loses their game source because they formatted their HD seriously needs to take a step back from game development and learn how to perform a backup of important information. Both the simple (zip everything up and shove it onto an external data) and the advanced (use a version control system) methods.
