Is this title (that will be on the title screen) an eyesore?
Just wondering, because it seems a tad… obnoxious.
Brace yourself.
Any ideas on what to change the colours to?

Personally I think it is, but I have seen worst. As for colors I have no idea, but I always go with darker colors, they might tone it down a little.
thats just a bad combination of font and colour. the outline should probably be a bit darker to give it some more contrast.
darken the purple to bring out the yellow.
not bad though, keep at it
The font makes it difficult to read.
Attempt two seems a bit better, in my opinion.
Any suggestions on ways to improve this? I changed the font, but this is still a bit sketchy.
Attempt number two was way better, but you didn’t have to ditch all the colors I think the purple was fine but the orange was just obnoxious.
I suggest checking out colour picking sites. There’s a lot of good information on colour theory, lots of pre-made schemes that go nicely with each other (http://www.colourlovers.com/), and some tools to help you pick new schemes that don’t suck (https://kuler.adobe.com/create/color-wheel/).
also think about the background its going to be on.
Perhaps if you kept the colors, but used a gradient border and added emboss? eg:
I don’t know, I actually like the original colors - keep trying to find a way to make them work
Attempt two is pretty good. I think red and black always go good together. But like banreaxe said the color of the background also plays a part.
It’s a terrible logo because it’s not readable. It’s an eyesore. If you are making a game logo, don’t put barriers in front of customers - make it easy to know what it is called. Bauwl Rowlaing doesn’t mean anything to me either.
The minionnz version is good.
What hippo said.
If people cant pronounce/spell your title, its rubbish.
If you’re naming your game “Bauwl Rowlaing” people aren’t going to be able to read it anyway. I’m guessing it’s a purposefully misspelled version of “Ball Rolling” but it’s got so many extra letters that it’s going to be hard to read no matter the font, and no one is going to remember how to spell it if they ever want to search for it.
That’s the worst name I’ve ever heard for a game. How much fun is the game going to be if it’s a struggle to even read the game name?
Get something catchy and short like ‘Rolly’ or something and make sure the game doesn’t exist already.
Yeah, that was more of a place holder title. I can’t be bothered to think of an actual title until I have the game working and functional. Agreed on the terrible title though.
I agree with Hippo… usability is very very important. You can make art that is nice for art’s sake but is terrible to USE … you have to think about how will the customer/player use this, what does its shape and color communicate to them, how does it educate them about its meaning by nuance of its shape, how much mental effort does it require, how much does it force them to have to think to figure it out, is it obvious, basically is it easy to use? As it stands it’s not easy to read, especially the U’s and W’s and the weird squished A’s. The outline actually perhaps helps some, the colors are a bit garish and could be tweaked etc… but mainly it’s the readability that’s an issue.
Better title, font and colour scheme.
I like this one much more, but it isn’t me who I’m targeting it at. What is the general opinion on this one?
Easier to read except for the lowercase p. Color is ok, bit boring.
