Is this possible?

Player A punches hole in a static scenic object, object now has a hole in it with a new texture inside.

If so, what accomplishes this?

Up…

What kind of object it is…?
Can you make more than 1 hole?
Is the view 2D, 3D?

Yes it would be more than one hole
and 3d

what do you mean what kind of object?

For example,
is it a simple box or more complicated object?

Or do you have some images of what you are making?

It’ll mostly be buildings, they could either be simple giant rectangular prisms or have the windows implanted into them as well with doors, but nothing more complex beyond that.

But the scene is going to be in a city, and the game is meant to have a cartoon feeling to it, so the giant non-cinematic effects will fit in

Is it a see through hole or you could just “stamp” a hole to the texture/as decal?

Example image would help (even a draft)

You can model your building so they have the holes in it then when you punch it it just make the hole part disapear.

You can dynamically modify your mesh via the Mesh class.

This is what I want I’m pretty sure.

I want to be able to punch the hole then walk into where I punched, and do it as much as I want, so holes could go through one another

I think it has been realized. In Asset Store,it is a package called “shatter_toolkit”(Common Called “Cutting Melon”),may be helpful. You can cut melons and see GreenSkin and RedPulp. You may cut a mesh Many Times.
