On my Windows pc, Unity version 6000.0.28f1 supports LTS, but my Mac doesn’t.
I recommend sticking to windows.
Mac is never a gaming computer, no matter how much money Tim Apple throws at advertisers.
What do you mean by “supports LTS”?
LTS (Long Term Support) applies to a release stream and includes all platforms. If a release is part of the LTS stream on Windows, it’s also part of the LTS stream on macOS or Linux.
When I try to install Unity 6 on my Mac with the Hub, I do see the LTS label for all releases of Unity 6.0.
I’ve been developing in Unity on Mac for almost 20 years. Maybe Macs aren’t good for your very narrow notion of what “gaming” is but there’s a vast world of gaming you should maybe try to learn more about.
M-series MacBooks are arguably the best devices for Unity development on the go right now. And if you develop for iOS, which is a huge gaming market, having a Mac will make development much easier.
And Unity was originally Mac-only and there’s still a few things that work better in the editor on Mac than on the other platforms.
@Adrian Your idea of “gaming” is just slots and microtransactions, and it’s bled into our world and poisoned a lot of mid to low tier PC games. If I wanted to go that route; I’d just start a call center in India.
